Adult Sunday School Classes
Barnabas
Barnabas means "to encourage." The class encourages one another and fellowships in and out of class. Both married and single adults welcome. We are a traditional Bible based study taught by rotating teacher staff. We have a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Our quarterly study is from the International Study Series.
Bible Discovery
The Bible Discovery class is a lively group of spirit filled Christians aged 55-95 who seek to discover timeless Biblical truths from both the Old and New Testaments. Each member becomes a teacher as we share prayer concerns and lessons from life. We will be studying the The Present Word, from International Sunday School Lessons.
Christianity 201
Class is open to both married couples and single adults. Our Bible based studies attract a varied cross section of believers eager to learn God's word and serve God through mission and outreach projects. This year studies include Chuck Colson's Does God Have a Place in Politics?, challenges of the first century church, and a review of Kent Hunter's book Discovering Your Windows.
Christians Under Construction
We are a new class of believers who will meet at 9:00 in the Upper Room. This class is open to all adults, any age, single or married. If you are interested in learning more about the Bible, learning more about Christianity, learning more about church, then this is the class for you.
Faith Weavers
Singles and married couples are welcome . We are building a community of faith by fellowship and the study of God's word. We are an informal study group that addresses a wide variety of subjects. Please join us this Sunday!
Kingdom Seekers
Adults of all ages study the Bible one book at a time and one verse at a time. Currently we are studying the book of Proverbs using the "Life Change Bible Series."
Moms R.O.C.K. (Raising Our Christian Kids)
If you are looking to balance your life in a Godly way, we encourage you to join with other mothers in Moms ROCK. Our curriculum is Queen of the Castle by Lynn Bowen Walker.
Spanish Bible Study
This Bible Study will include English and Spanish versions of the Gospel of John. It is intended to meet spiritual and fellowship needs of those who wish to practice Spanish or English. The class will include singing, conversation, some grammar, prayer and study in both target languages. Please invite your Spanish speaking friends to join us! Dios les bendiga!
Strands of Faith
"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not easily broken." Eccl. 4:12 Like this verse says, we are a network of love and support. Our class atmosphere is relaxed and friendly with a rotating teaching schedule - volunteers only. We enjoy fellowship both in and out of the classroom. Singles and married adults are welcome.
Women of Worship (WOW)
We are a class of women ranging in age and marital status who give support and encouragement to one another. Additionally, we serve both ministries within our church family (MIHN and the needs of those in our class) and missions in our community (the Ronald McDonald house) We take our fellowship outside the classroom with social gatherings and retreats. Our current study is "Wising Up - Applying the Wisdom of Proverbs to Daily Life," by Cheryl A. Kirk-Duggan. This book is part of the Sisters Bible Study for Women. Please come for a taste of WOW!!
Evening Adult Studies
Financial Peace University
Wednesdays, 6:45-8:00 in room 205. Led by Henry Booth. Financial Peace University is a life-changing program that teaches you how to make the right decisions with your money. You'll be empowered with the practical skills and confidence needed to achieve your financial goals and experience true financial peace! Cost of materials - $90. Begins Jan. 21st.
Creative Correction
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 in room 206. Led by Anna Rudolph & Leslie McKinney. Traditional child-rearing methods are a good place to start, but sometimes we need to be a bit creative to get the attention of our children. This class offers great tips for practical alternatives that will be rewarding-both for you and your children. Cost of book - $15. Meets Jan. 28th-Mar. 4th.
Spiritual Gifts/Lenten Study
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 in the library. Led by the pastors and others. This study will equip you to identify your spiritual gifts & use your gifts within the Body of Christ to become the person God wants you to be! In February, this group will study the church-wide Lenten series, 4o Days of Love, endorsed by Rick Warren. Begins Jan. 21st.
LAUNCH Pad
Mondays, 6:30-8:30 in room 206. Led by Dan Carroll. This class will open your eyes to parenting principles & Biblical truths, give you clarity to God's will & purpose in parenting His children, and give you a game plan to raise your children to maturity. Cost of book-$10. Small fee for childcare. Meets Jan. 12, 26; Feb. 2, 9, 16, 23.
