Advent has a number of small groups and programs designed to make people feel welcome, accepted, and cared for.
Circles of Concern
Many of our members belong to Circles of Concern, which meet monthly for dinner, fun, sharing, a short bible study and prayer. This is a great way to make friends and become part of a community of believers.
Care Team
Advent also sponsors a "Care Team" Program. Care Team exists to meet short term needs and provide very basic care for members. Cards to shut-ins and those in the hospital, a meal or two during a difficult time and other small deeds of kindness.
Stephen Ministry
Stephen Ministry is another caring ministry of Advent. Lay people are trained to share God's love one on one over a period of about six months or less. Stephen Ministers are a listening ear, a sympathetic heart and a partner to share concerns over a period of time. Learn More about Stephen Ministry
Each week, after the services, Care Team and Stephen Ministers are in the Prayer Room to pray with and for members and visitors.
