Advent Arlington Announcements & Prayer List 10-14-18

Operation Christmas Child:

It’s time to fill a shoe box! Operation Christmas Child is now collecting gifts that get sent to kids all over the world. We have brochures that explain the procedure and boxes to fill. You can also use a regular shoe box or plastic shoe box. And to make it really easy, you can go to samaritanspurse.org and shop online to complete an order. Contact Janet Quillin at 901-550-6262 for more information. She will be collecting the shoe boxes November 12-18 or you can deliver them to Highland Heights Presbyterian Church.

Weekly Sunday Connect Bible Studies:

Preschool – Third Grade: Sundays at 10:50 am after the children’s message (Wee Church). Elementary Students: Each Sunday at 9:15 am in the Education Building, Purple Room. Middle and High School: Sundays at 9:15 am in the Education Building, Youth Room. Adults: Sunday mornings at 9:15 am in the Education Building.   Mon., Oct. 15th NA Group Meeting 7:00 pm Advent Arlington Church now hosts an NA recovery group. They meet weekly in our Fellowship Hall at 7 pm. NA is open to people recovering from all types of addictions: drugs, alcohol, pornography, sex, gambling, etc.   Wed., Oct. 17th Mom’s Bible Study 9:15 am The Mom’s Bible Study is open to all mothers, especially those with young children. Contact: Amy Kerns (901-483-7293). Childcare is provided.   Wed., Oct. 17th “EPIC Youth” 6:00 pm EPIC Youth is a new weekly youth group gathering for students in grades 7-12 on Wednesday evenings in the Advent Arlington Fellowship Hall. Be sure to invite others to join us.   Wed., Oct. 17th EPIC (Eat, Pray, Inspire, Connect) Fall Semester 6:00-7:30 pm EPIC is a 7-week program for all ages at Advent Arlington on Wednesday evenings. Each EPIC night begins with dinner. Many weeks, we stay together for the evening, learning from the Bible, watching skits, doing crafts, playing games, or praying. Some weeks, we break into age and gender-based groups (children, youth, men, women) for separate lessons and activities. The theme this fall is “Gifts for Glory.” To learn more, contact Jodie Miller at 619-944-5118.   Thu., Oct. 18th DIVA Group 10:00 am Women are invited to join the DIVA Group (Divinely Inspired Victoriously Anointed) for Bible study, mission, fellowship, and prayer. They meet on the first and third Thursday morning each month in the Fellowship Hall. Contact: Lyle Conley (901-301-8033).   Sun., Oct. 21st Route 66 9:15 am Route 66 is a weekly class for adults which studies the Bible and Christian beliefs. It is open to guests and newcomers, so come on out next Sunday morning!   Sun., Oct. 21st ACTS for Students Noon-3:30 pm Just for teens! ACTS is for students in grades 7-12. It includes lunch, activities, games, and service. Parents and friends are welcome. If you have questions ask Andrea Sireci.   Sun., Oct. 21st ACTS Junior Noon-3:30 pm Just for preteens! ACTS Jr. is for students in grades 4-6. It includes lunch, activities, games, and service. Parents and friends are welcome. If you have questions ask Heather Normand.
