Advent Arlington Announcements and Prayer List 11-4-18

Advent Arlington Church Announcements and Calendar Need Prayer? Following our worship services, persons are available to pray with and for you (our Stephen Ministers Becky Bunker, Larry Myers, and Duane Gardner, or Pastor Don).   Operation Christmas Child: It’s time to fill a shoe box! Operation Christmas Child is now collecting gifts that get sent to kids all over the world. We have brochures that explain the procedure and boxes to fill. You can also use a regular shoe box or plastic shoe box. And to make it really easy, you can go to samaritanspurse.org and shop online to complete an order. Contact Janet Quillin at 901-550-6262 for more information. She will be collecting the shoe boxes November 12-18 or you can deliver them to Highland Heights Presbyterian Church.   Advent Arlington Prayer List:

  Weekly Sunday Connect Bible Studies: Preschool – Third Grade: Sundays at 10:50 am after the children’s message (Wee Church). Elementary Students: Each Sunday at 9:15 am in the Education Building, Purple Room. Middle and High School: Sundays at 9:15 am in the Education Building, Youth Room. Adults: Sunday mornings at 9:15 am in the Education Building.   Mon., Nov. 5th NA Group Meeting 7:00 pm Advent Arlington Church now hosts an NA recovery group. They meet weekly in our Fellowship Hall at 7 pm. NA is open to people recovering from all types of addictions: drugs, alcohol, pornography, sex, gambling, etc.   Wed., Nov. 7th Mom’s Bible Study 9:15 am The Mom’s Bible Study is open to all mothers, especially those with young children. Contact: Amy Kerns (901-483-7293). Childcare is provided.   Wed., Nov. 7th “EPIC Youth” 6:00 pm EPIC Youth is a weekly youth group gathering for students in grades 7-12 on Wednesday evenings in the Advent Arlington Fellowship Hall. Be sure to invite others to join us.   Sun., Nov. 11th Route 66 9:15 am Route 66 is a weekly class for adults which studies the Bible and Christian beliefs. It is open to guests and newcomers, so come on out next Sunday morning!   Thu., Nov. 15th DIVA Group 10:00 am Women are invited to join the DIVA Group (Divinely Inspired Victoriously Anointed) for Bible study, mission, fellowship, and prayer. They meet on the first and third Thursday morning each month in the Fellowship Hall. Contact: Lyle Conley (901-301-8033).   Sat., Nov. 17th Christmas on the Square 3:00-7:00 pm Christmas on the Square is a community event held in the Historic Arlington Depot Square. There are many activities for children. Bring out the family to enjoy, or volunteer to help our DIVA group provide the children with reindeer food. Contact: Lyle Conley (901-301-8033).   Sun., Nov. 18th ACTS for Students Noon-3:30 pm Just for teens! ACTS is for students in grades 7-12. It includes lunch, activities, games, and service. This month we will perform a mission project with the Forest Spence organization. Parents and friends are welcome. If you have questions ask Andrea Sireci.   Tues., Nov. 20th ACTS Junior 10:30 am-1:30 pm Just for preteens! ACTS Jr. is for students in grades 4-6. This month they will gather at the Cantrell’s home (6160 Windsor Oak Drive) to bake cookies. Once prepared, they will deliver them to local fire fighters and the Shelby County Police.
