LOOKING AHEAD…
God’s Advent Book Club: Meeting date changed to Thursday May 24th at 10am instead of Thursday, May 17th at 10am.
Skate Session: Friday, May 25th @ 5pm—North Parking Lot. Eat—Skate—Stoke.
Senior ‘Advent’urers: We’re traveling to Safari Park in Alamo, TN on Thursday, 5/31. The church bus will leave at 11:00 am if you want to ride with us. Contact Robert Crumpton for more information.
Feed the Flock: Advent’s Food Pantry is a continuous ministry. The most needed items this month are meat items, peanut butter, canned spaghetti sauce and fruit. Thank you for your donations!
Summer Sunday School Teachers: We need Sunday School teachers to help during the summer months, so everyone gets a break… Please volunteer during the months of June, July & the first week of August to teach ages four years through high school. Contact Robin Ballou for more information.
NOTICE: Take note that the new gate that was installed at the south entrance where our parking lot connects to the side road next to El Porton will remained locked except on Sundays, Wednesday evenings (during WNA) and special events. This gate has been installed to cut down on traffic coming through our parking lot for the safety of everyone, but especially the children.

VBS: Registration for VBS starts this week! You can find out all about it in the hallway today. We’re collecting buttons, milk jugs with lids, safety pins and toilet paper rolls.
VBS: Work Nights for VBS, Wednesdays in May at 6:30 pm in the CLC.

SUMMER CAMPS – It’s time to register for summer camps! We have camps for boys and girls age 3 1/2 years through current 6th graders. Pick up a brochure and see what we offer in art, sports and general day camps.
FUSED GLASS ANGEL – You loved them at the crafts fair, now learn how to do fused glass as you make an angel and cross. Tuesday, 5/22, 2:00 or 7:00. $10/Angel includes supplies and firing. Register today.
ZENTANGLE JEWELRY—Practice relaxing, meditative zentangle that you will turn into jewelry. See samples in the CLC. Wed., 6/13 at 2:00 pm or 7:00 pm. Register by 6/10. $10 includes all supplies. Ages 12-adult.
SPIRITUAL ARTS – A monthly Bible study group with focus on awakening the creative spirit. You will meditate on a text and reflect on it in an art project. No art experience needed. Pick up a flier at Arlington or Cordova. June sessions will be 6/11 at 6:30pm and/or 6/14 at 10:00am.
PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY - Come for fellowship while creating comfort through shawls and afghans 1st & 3rd Tuesdays at 2:00. Call the CLC if you are interested.
TAI CHI – Learn to relax your mind, body and spirit. Classes are on Wednesdays at 8:30AM. The fee is $4.00 per class or a punch card of 12 classes for $40. The same punch card works for aerobics and Zumba.
ZUMBA – Tuesdays at 6:30pm (free), For more information email .
KARATE – For fitness & fun, self defense and personal development try Family Karate. Saturdays 10:00. $55/month for first family member and $35 each additional.
AEROBICS – Low impact classes are Monday and Friday at 8:30am. First class is free.
WEIGHT WATCHERS – Weight Watchers meets Mondays at 6pm in the Fireside Room.
SHARE YOUR TALENTS – Do you have a craft, project, knowledge or other talent that you would be willing to share with the rest of the church?
