Wow! It’s hard to believe but 2019 is history and 2020 is here! We have seen
God do many and mighty things as He continues to have His hand and favor
on Advent. As we move into the New Year our 2020 theme is unity. Jesus,
praying asked this of the Father:
20 “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me
through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me,
and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that
you have sent me. 22 The glory that you have given me I have given to
them, that they may be one even as we are one, 23 I in them and you in
me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that
you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.   John 17
Unity is the prayer Jesus prayed, empowering us to be the conduit to the
Father for those who need to believe and experience God’s love. Join with us,
as we in unity, endeavor to move God’s Kingdom forward.
Our sermon series for January, is entitled “RESOLVE; 2020 Vision.” We are
going to take a unique and in-depth look at what it means to RESOLVE to be
who God has called us to be individually, as a family, in our community and
as a church. We will explore together, through God’s Word, how God is
leading us in 2020 and beyond.
In February our Sermon series, “GOD IS.” will focus on the attributes of God,
His faithfulness and His consistency. This will be a great time of exploring the
character of God and how He relates to each of us. This will be a “can’t miss”

Advent’s Mission:

As disciples, to cause God great joy by  sharing His love with others as we have experienced it in

Jesus Christ.

Are you new?

Welcome to Advent. We’re glad to have you here with us! Whether you’ve been to Advent many times or have never been to church before, you can anticipate an encouraging and enlightening experience. We’d like to get to know you and help you connect to the Advent family. On Sunday morning, come to the welcome center to receive a welcome gift. If you’d like to talk to someone directly, contact Leslie McKinney.

What about my children?

We believe they are the church right now! So we place an emphasis on ministry for and by children and teenagers by having them gather to connect with each other and Christ. We have plenty of fun and vetted, trusted, and enthusiastic staff and volunteers in various settings. Children and teenagers get together in authentic community to discuss real truths, to change their lives and the world bit by bit. You can find out more about Advent Children’s Ministry by contacting Kimberly Munafo and Advent’s Youth Ministry by contacting Greg Aydt.   |
