This Is Us – Questionable Lives
    Series: This Is Us
If we only go to the same places and do the same things and group with people who are like us the our perception of the world gets shrunken in to the narrow story of things that we only care about. So this week, make time to be an alien and a stranger in your own town. Try to diversify what you do and where you go. Make time to hang out with a different group of people than you usually do, to go to places you don't usually visit and be the minority voice. In doing this we will find that we enter in to the experience of Jesus and begin to wonder, "What else can I do to appeal to the world around me; particularly those who are not Christian, like me."

    Steps to Emmaus
    Series: Steps
Perhaps all along, in our wandering, God has been in disguise, reasoning with us through perhaps an event at work, or a conversation with a family member, or a phone call from an old friend or a conversation with our kids, or a line in a TV show. This God dressed in common dress has been appealing to us to make our a way back home. Will we hear that and see Him and to make our way back home?
  • Aug 28, 2017A we approach the resurrection life we begin to let go of the things that don’t belong in this new world…our bitterness, our resentment, the ways we ignore others around us and we learn to breath the air of a brand new world. That is what’s going to happen as we take steps from the tomb. Let us take those steps together because as we walk together as the body of Christ we see that resurrection around us in a thousand different ways.

    Steps Through The Garden
    Series: Steps
The world around us eager for us to follow our God into messy situations and to be the hands and feet of Jesus. What we do next as a church, as followers of Jesus, matters to God. As people of God let's be prayer warriors and let's be people of sympathy and empathy but let's also, with all the guts and grace Jesus gives us, journey out into God's world, into the midst of the brokenness...in the midst of the fracture and say, "God, what is the most faithful thing I can do here? How can I include? How can I embrace?" At the very least can we say that we will not be shaped by the thing that crawls along the bottom of a television screen but the words that are in red in the text we claim to believe!

    Steps through the Wilderness
    Series: Steps
We are all journeying through a wilderness and the way forward is a little bit fuzzy and the river around us is changing. We're filled with anxiety and fear for what we need to do next. Maybe what will be enough for us is to understand that God is trustworthy - always faithful. He's the same yesterday, today and forever and He will be with us. That is enough for those who give themselves to the life of faith.

    True Hero
    Series: Heroes
All we're doing is hiding under the shade of a tree that is not bringing us hope and salvation. Others of us have our own salvation projects and think we can handle it all on our own. But the truth of the scripture is that we can't. God never intended that. God intended us to seek the life that is truly life...To come out from hiding like Adam and Eve...To not seek an alternative plan like Abimelek...but to gather around the tree that truly gives us hope.
