Paul had to address the same problems we see in the church today. Then, like now, healthy churches are built when God's Truth shapes God's people. To do this the church needs Godly leaders and needs to be founded on Gospel Truth. Paul warns agains Christians who profess to know God but deny Him with their works. Paul warns of Christians who use the Gospel to seek to gain for their own greed.
