Instructions for Individuals

IMPORTANT: Each voting member must have their own device in order to vote for motions. Also, each voting member must have their full name as their display name.

Please find what device you’re using below to see specific instructions for the meeting.

 

Windows/Mac

  1. Download Zoom Client for Meeting: https://zoom.us/download#client_4meeting
  2. Login by clicking “Join a Meeting”

          Meeting ID: 901 755 6290

          Click “Join”

          When prompted for a password, Password: Advent

OR

  1. Login by clicking this link in the email: www.zoom.us/j/9017556290 and entering the password above.
  2. Audio: If the speaker or microphone isn’t working, click the tiny up arrow next to the microphone logo in the bottom left and choose the correct devices.
  3. Mute: Please mute yourself by clicking the microphone button in the bottom left. Leave yourself muted unless you’re called on to speak.
  4. Start video: If you would like to, click the “Start Video” button in the bottom left. Turn your video off by clicking the same button.
  5. Display name: 1) Click the “Participants” button at the bottom of the screen. 2) Move your mouse over your name on the right side of the screen. 3) Click “More.” 4) Click “Rename.” 5) Type in your first and last name. 6) Click “OK”
  6. How to speak: 1) Click “More” on the bottom of the screen. 2) Click “Raise Hand.” 3) Wait for Moderator to invite you to speak. 4) Once invited to speak, click the microphone button in the bottom left to unmute. 5) Remember to mute yourself when you’re done speaking.
  7. How to vote: When the question is called on a motion and vote ordered, a poll will be launched with three options for you to choose from: “Yes,” “No,” or “Abstain.” Please choose one by clicking the circle next to your choice, then click “Submit.” Voting will only be open for 20 seconds. It is anonymous.

 

Android Phone or Tablet

  2. Login by tapping “Join a Meeting”

Announcement

We will have increased capacity to be able to host everyone in person while still social distancing. Masks are required for this short meeting so that everyone can feel safe and have the opportunity to vote on this important matter. We will have socially-distanced seating in the Advent Cordova Sanctuary/Chapel, Advent Cordova Lindsay Hall, Advent Cordova Gym, and Advent Arlington Sanctuary. The meeting will be livestreamed to and from each location so that everyone can participate in discussion and vote without hindrance.

 

For those that would not like to participate in person, you can join by Zoom. In order to offer this option in an orderly way, keep in mind four important things: 1) Each voting member must be on their own device (only one vote per device). 2) Each voting member should have their full name as their display name. 3) Please keep your microphone muted when not speaking to a motion. 4) Because voting will be done by Zoom, only active members of Advent in good standing can join by Zoom; this option is not for anyone and everyone.
