Confess

1 John 1:5-10, Psalm 51:1-12 We all like the idea of a church that builds us up and inspires us. The problem is that real life-change actually starts with the uncomfortable work of confession. We have to be vulnerable before God and… at least according to scripture… vulnerable with each other. The command to confess runs through the bible and if we’re willing to lean in - it is the path to restoration. Old church language often sounds outdated or almost offensive in our current culture. In this series, we’ll explore each word and why it doesn’t seem relevant or comfortable. Then we will look at the theological concept that each word represents. Finally, we will do our best to redeem the word - looking at it in a new light and seeing its relevance and importance.
