Financial Assistance for Advent’s Youth
The Jon Shober College Scholarship was created by members of the Advent Youth program to honor the life of Jon Shober, an Advent Youth member that committed his life to Christ shortly before losing his life in a motorcycle accident. The scholarship program is fully funded by the generous donations of the members of Advent who are committed to furthering the education of our youth.
The scholarship is available to all students who were active in the Advent Presbyterian youth department during high school. Scholarships are available for up to ten students per semester and are awarded based on financial need.
The scholarship is available after the completion of the first semester of school. The minimum GPA after the first semester is a 3.0. After the first semester, to continue to receive the scholarship, a cumulative GPA of 2.75 is required. It is the responsibility of the student to send their grades after each semester to the Shober Fund Committee in order to continue receiving the scholarship.
